چکیده

The insecticidal potential of tea tree oil formulations was tested for contact and stomach poison toxicities against various stages the Spodoptera littoralis ((Boisduval, 1883) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) larvae under laboratory conditions. study carried out at Yozgat Bozok University Faculty Agriculture between 2020 2021. In toxicity test, were different by topical application. Among formulations, TTO (100%), F14 (91.72%), F15 (89.20%) caused highest mortality in S. 3rd stage after 72 h. Dose-response bioassay with most promising (TTO, F15) revealed that LD50 values 0.016, 0.046, 0.076 μg/larvae TTO, F14, F15, respectively. effects applying a 0.16 μg/cm$^{2}$ dose to lettuce leaf discs. F17 F18 produced rates 75% 65% 10 days incubation, calculated LC$_{50}$ these 0.027 0.042 These results its main components containing have controlling this destructive lepidopteran pest species.

CROP PROTECTION Growth Disruption, Abnormalities and Mortality of Spodoptera littoralis (Boisduval) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) Caused by Azadirachtin

Azadirachtin is the most effective compound of the neem tree, Azadirachta indica A. Juss, with insecticidal and growth disruption properties on several species of insects. Its effects on the development and survival of Spodoptora littoralis (Boisduval) were studied under laboratory conditions. Third-instar larvae were individually fed on artificial diet treated with azadirachtin (from 0.01 ppm ...

An Agar-Free Insect Rearing Artifical Diet: A New Approach for the Low Cost Mass Rearing of The Egyptian Cotton Leafworm, Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.)(Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

A new formula for insect rearing artificial diets without using any of their conventional gelling agents was provided in the present work, for the first time. Larvae of the Egyptian cotton leafworm, Spodoptera littoralis (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) were successfully mass-reared, for nine consecutive generations on an agar-free artificial diet. This suggested medium is based on yellow lentils, Lens...

Flight attraction of Spodoptera littoralis (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae) to cotton headspace and synthetic volatile blends

The insect olfactory system discriminates odor signals of different biological relevance, which drive innate behavior. Identification of stimuli that trigger upwind flight attraction toward host plants is a current challenge, and is essential in developing new, sustainable plant protection methods, and for furthering our understanding of plant-insect interactions. Using behavioral, analytical a...

Repellent and insecticidal activities of Melia azedarach L. against cotton leafworm, Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.).

A crude acetone extract and oil of ripe fruits from Melia azedarach L. were evaluated against the 2nd and 4th instar larvae of Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). Both oil and extract exhibited highly significant growth inhibition at all concentrations tested, while the oil of M. azedarach recorded higher insecticidal activity against both instars than the crude extract. GC...
